On June 24, 2014, the media reported the fact that Benteke was in talks for his move to Zulte-Waregem. It was officially confirmed the 28th of June 2014, when the player signed a 3-year contract.

On 1 September 2016, Benteke joined the development squad of Premier League side Crystal Palace, where his brother played.

In September 2017, Cypriot First Division club Omonia Nicosia signed Benteke on a two-year contract.

Benteke played as a youth player with JS Pierreuse before moving to the next standard Standard Liege in 2006 where was he played for a year before joining Vise’s youth team. Then, in 2009, Benteke retreated again to Standard where the four seasons he spent there were as a player in their youth teams, without being a part of their first squad. When he was released from Standard He was able to return to Vise where he made his first professional first appearance in a team and was being a part of the Belgian Second Division. While at C.S. Vise Benteke was able to play in 18 games, scoring twice.
