Amon’s father hails from Nigeria and immigrated from Nigeria to United States at a young age to play soccer at the high school level. Amon is the youngest of three siblings and a sister. His elder sibling, Joseph Amon, also played soccer and was selected in his U.S. squad for the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Amon was a part of three seasons at his U.S. Soccer Development Academy in Charleston, South Carolina, before being selected for be part of the U.S. Soccer U15 National Team Camp in 2014. Amon discovered his way to FC Nordsjaelland by virtue of an unplanned sequence of events that started by being invited to a camp in Denmark on the request of Scout Kenn Schmidt Nielsen from Global Elite FC / Global Football School USA, Inc. In Denmark, Scout Nielsen took him on a tryout in two different clubs (Brondby the IF as well as FC Nordsjaelland) and he became a fan of the school and training atmosphere at the KIES School, where the camp was held. Scout Kenn helped him to join KIES. Then, Soren Krogh (teacher at Kies and assistant coach at FC Nordsjaelland) offered Amon the chance to join the FC Nordsjaelland academy U17 team. In May of 2017, Amon signed his first professional contract with FCN.
Amon was called up in January 2018 to the United States under-20 side for a training camp in Florida.
