Andy Hessenthaler was appointed Dover Athletic manager in June 2007 and Wallis declined an offer from a Football League club in order to remain for at least one more year with the Kent club in order to further develop his skills as the previous Gillingham manager.
After Dover Athletic won the Isthmian League Division One South title, Wallis opted to sign a new one-year deal in May 2008. The following season saw more success for the Kent club as they won the Isthmian League Premier Division at the first time of asking, which prompted Wallis to sign another new contract for Dover Athletic.
Wallis joined Conference South side Dartford in 2011 after a falling-out of a number of players with then Dover manager Martin Hayes.
Wallis was able to produce more than twenty appearances during the 2005-06 season, nearly all at right-back. However on the 9th of May, 2006, Wallis was let go by Gillingham and just a few days later, he signed with Hereford United. But, he only made two appearances as a substitute for the Bulls.

As he progressed, he joined the junior groups at Gillingham and was signed on the first contract of his professional career in the middle of 2005/06’s season. Prior to that, he been working for three months in the club of Hastings United where he made 14 appearances across every competition, scoring four goals. Two of those goals came in the initial rounds in the FA Cup. Wallis returned to Gillingham’s Pilot Field in September 2005 with a month- long loan. After returning to Gillingham, Wallis had been an integral part of the reserve and youth teams and it was due to several impressive performances for the reserves team when Neale Cooper made the decision to give Wallis his first appearance.
On October 28, 2006, he went out on the loan of Dover as a midfield cover playing 12 times as well as scoring the first of his goals in Dover’s 4-0 victory against Ashford Town. On February 19, 2007, the player was loaned again and this time, with Dagenham & Redbridge, making two substitute appearances.
On 27 March 2007, he left Hereford by mutual consent and subsequently signed for Dover Athletic until the end of the season.
