Mead also took home at the 1986 Canadian Junior Curling Championships as third place in the race for Hugh McFadyen and won silver at the 1987 World Junior Curling Championships.
Prior to signing with Middaugh, Mead was the longest-running third on Jeff Stoughton, whose team He joined prior to 1999 season.
