Jolene Ivey (born July 30 1961) is an American politician from the 47th Legislative District in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2007 to 2015. In 2014, she was an official candidate for Lieutenant Governor for Maryland who was on behalf of attorney general Doug Gansler. In 2018 she received a seat on be a member of the Prince George’s County Council to represent District 5.

Ivey is an elected member of the House of Delegates since January 10 in 2007. She was appointed for the Ways and Means Committee and its revenue and election law subcommittees. She was vice-chairperson of the Bi-County Committee in the Prince George’s county Delegation. She also was a member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland as well as in the Women Legislators of Maryland. When she first sat of Annapolis, Ivey got her first bill passed and then signed into law. House Bill 968 created the Post Adoption Support Services Pilot Program which determines the children that are eligible to receive post-adoption support services. It also mandates the local Departments of Social Services to examine the needs of children who have been adopted.

In 2014, Ivey ran for Lieutenant Governor with Douglas Gansler. The Gansler–Ivey team lost to the Brown–Ullman campaign in the democratic primary election for the top ticket that year, coming in second.

Name recognition could have been a factor during her first run of 2006 in the House of Delegates in Maryland, Ivey was endorsed by The Washington Post and The Gazette as well as had a strong, campaign on the ground. She defeated incumbent Rosetta C. Parker.
