John Akin Salako (born 11 February 1969) is an English ex- professional footballer as well as a sports TV pundit. Salako was the coach of the first team at Premier League side Crystal Palace for the 2015-16 season.

Salako was released from Palace at the end of the season of 1995 to sign to Coventry City. He played three seasons with Coventry and then spent a short time on loan with Bolton Wanderers, before signing for Fulham in Division Two. In Fulham the striker scored twice: at one time at the top of the table against Macclesfield and another during the League Cup against Cardiff City. Following Fulham was his last club, he was a player with Charlton Athletic and Reading, before settling at Brentford.
