John Akin Salako (born 11 February 1969) is an English ex- professional footballer as well as a sports TV pundit. Salako was the coach of the first team at Premier League side Crystal Palace for the 2015-16 season.

He has also coached Crystal Palace under 16 team along with ex-teammate Bright. On the 8th of August, 2015, he announced to be the Crystal Palace first team coach. As of 2005 Salako got a place in Crystal Palace’s Centenary XI.

Salako was released from Palace at the end of the season of 1995 to sign to Coventry City. He played three seasons with Coventry and then spent a short time on loan with Bolton Wanderers, before signing for Fulham in Division Two. In Fulham the striker scored twice: at one time at the top of the table against Macclesfield and another during the League Cup against Cardiff City. Following Fulham was his last club, he was a player with Charlton Athletic and Reading, before settling at Brentford.
