John Prendergast is one of the most popular and richest Human Rights Activist who was born on March 21, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Prendergast was featured on five shows of 60 Minutes and travelled across Africa in the series with Dateline NBC, ABC’s Nightline, The PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and CNN’s Inside Africa and Newsweek/The Daily Beast and The New York Times Magazine. He also has appeared in a variety of documentaries, including: Merci Congo, Sand and Sorrow, Darfur Now, 3 Points, and War Child. He also co-produced Journey Into Sunset, and is the Executive producer of Staging Hope: Acts of Peace in Northern Uganda, both about Northern Uganda. He also appeared in motion film by Warner Brother The Good Lie.

Prendergast has written a lot about Africa as well as being the writer or co- author of 11 books. The most recent of his books can be found in Congo Stories: Battling Five Centuries of Exploitation and Greed (2018) co-written alongside Congolese activists Fidel Bafilemba, and featuring photos taken by Ryan Gosling. The two previous books which he co-authored were with actors and activists Don Cheadle. There’s Nothing to Do but Watch is which was a New York Times bestseller and NAACP non-fiction bestseller of the year, as well as The Enough Moment: Fighting to end Africa’s most heinous humanitarian crimes. In the present, he is working on a book that focuses on his country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo along with Gosling along with New Yorker writer Kelefa Sanneh.
