John Jonke is one of the most popular and richest Canadian soccer player who was born on January 20, 1987 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Jonke was born on the 27th of September, 1987. He is the son of Frank Jonke and Joanne Jonke. Jonke’s older sister, Frank Jr., is also professional soccer player. Jonke studied Major in the field of Sports Administration alongside him at the University of Louisville, and was also a part of his team during his time at Oulu which is located in Finland.
In 2007, the Toronto Lynx announced the signing of Jonke for the 2007 PDL season. Jonke began the Lynx debut on the 12th of May, 2007 when he faced The West Michigan Edge. The Lynx ended their season with a 6-4 record, which put the team in fourth position within the Great Lakes Division, and only missed out on a playoff spot in the playoffs by 6 points. In 2008, Jonke was instrumental in helping the Lynx to make it to the playoffs for only the second time since they made it to the playoffs in 2000. however sadly to the Lynx the Cleveland Internationals scored a late winner to make the game 2-1and send the Lynx home in the early hours of.
After a year in Finland, Jonke returned to North America in early 2010 when he signed with Crystal Palace Baltimore of the USSF Division 2 Professional League. For the remainder of the 2010 season he signed with Portugal FC of the Canadian Soccer League. He recorded his first goal on July 23, 2010 in a match against London City. Jonke would help Portugal qualify for the playoffs by finishing fifth in the overall standings. In the first round of the postseason Portugal faced Milltown F.C., and advanced to the next round by winning the series by a score 3-2. In the semi-finals the club faced Brantford Galaxy, but were eliminated by a score of 5-3.
On March 7, 2011, Jonke signed with FC Edmonton of the second division North American Soccer League. In his debut season with Edmonton, he helped the team qualify for the postseason by finishing fifth in the overall standings. Edmonton faced the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the postseason, but were eliminated by a score 5-0. In 2014, he signed with Vaughan Azzuri in the newly formed League1 Ontario.
Jonke was part of Canada U-20 national soccer team which participated during the Jeux de la Francophonie tournament. Jonke first made his Canada U-20 debut the 6th, 2005 against the Cameroon national team. He also played in two more matches for Canada in the group stage, against Haiti as well as Cote d’Ivoire, losing both matches , which resulted in Canada being removed from the tournament.

Jonke started playing soccer at the junior level in his time at secondary school with St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School. As a senior at St. Mary’s Jonke was named captain of the team and was instrumental in guiding his side to victory in the region championship. As the season came to an end, Jonke was named Player of the Year. In 2004, Jonke was a part of his first team, the Toronto Lynx youth academy, which was where he was named captain of the team. He also won the Heartland Division Championship. Jonke also helped the U-19 Lynx team reach the semifinals in the Dallas Cup where the Lynx lost 2-1 to IMG Soccer Academy. Shortly after, Jonke was enrolled into the University of Louisville on a soccer scholarship. In his first campaign with the Cardinals He played in 22 games and helped improve the defense, recording eight shutouts. In his rookie season, the player scored his first goal in a game against Syracuse and was successful in establishing himself as a player.
The following year Jonke turned professional when he signed with AC Oulu in Finland. He made his debut for AC Oulu on June 28, 2009 by scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over FC KooTeePee.
