John Gadret (born 22 April 1979) is a French former professional cyclist in road and cyclo-cross who is currently competing in the USO Bruay-la-Buissiere amateur team. He was a stagiaire with Cofidis in 2003, before becoming a professional with the Vlaanderen T Interim team in 2004.
After eight years of Ag2r-La-Mondiale, Gadret was released from the team at the conclusion in the season 2013 and was a part of with the Movistar Team for 2014. Gadret was not able to sign a professional contract following the 2015 season and he was able to return to the amateur leagues.
The 2011 Giro d’Italia, Gadret finished 3rd overall and won on the 11th stage. He finished 3′ 54″ behind race winner Michele Scarponi.

In 2004, he was the national champion in cyclocross of France in his first appearance. At this point, Gadret was an expert in the cyclocross discipline, however he was starting to perform at a high level in stage races, like the Deutschland Tour. Gadret was crowned the winner of the French Cyclo-cross championships. At the time of 2006’s Giro d’Italia Gadret showed great potential in the mountains finishing 7th in the 6th, 7th and 5th places on all three stages in the mountains. Gadret crashed during the 18th stage and was forced to stop due to broken collarbone. Despite his promising performances at the track, Gadret was back in the cyclocross season of 2006-2007, in which he fought the dominance of Belgian Sven Nys in the Koppenbergcross and was 8th at the UCI World Cyclocross Championships. Resuming his road racing with the intention of participating for the first time in the Tour de France, Gadret achieved his first victory on the roads in the Grand Prix of Aargau Canton. Following his 2007 Tour de France Gadret won the third stage and won the jersey of the leader during the Tour de l’Ain which he took home the next day.
The day of Stage 15 of the 2010 Tour de France Gadret caused controversy after he refused to give his bike to his team’s leader, Nicolas Roche, following a puncture during the stage. He afterward, he began attacking the group before Roche. He was later 19th overall.
