Joseph “Joe” Blessing Ikhinmwin (born 18 September 1987) is a British professional basketball player and captain of the team for the London Lions (British Basketball League).
He began the first season of his London Lions career in September 2013. In the initial season, his position was varied, with an average of just under 8 points and four rebounding per game and shooting 46 percent off the field.
In September 2014 his contract with Lions has been signed for another 2 years but was pulled off after 2 months. Joe re-established his contract and returned to Lions on December 2014.
On 31 March 2014 Ikhinmwin won the 2014 BBL Trophy Slam Dunk contest in Glasgow’s Emirates Arena at the BBL Trophy Finals. On the same day he represented the England team at an International Friendly against Scotland and scored 15 points.
Ikhinmwin was a rookie in 2012/2013 with the team of Newcastle Eagles and finished with runners-up awards during the BBL regular season Play-offs, regular season and Cup before resigning from the team and moving to his home town.

In 2006, he enrolled in the Barking Abbey Basketball Academy. He and began with the Great Britain U20 team and was named captain of the team in 2007. From 2006 to 2007, he was a player with London Leopards. London Leopards.
After finishing Barking Abbey School’s sixth form He left Britain to attend Seminole State College in Oklahoma in the USA. He played from 2008 until 2010 for”Seminole State Trojans “Seminole State Trojans” (NJCAA). He was unable to play in his first season as a result of an back problem, but performed well in the final two seasons and then was transferred to the NCAA South Carolina State Bulldogs in the MEAC in the seasons 2010-2012 in which he averaged 7 points, and 4 rebound per game.
2014/2015 season was a real comeback for the Lions, the team had made it to the BBL Play-Off final in May 2015 but lost to the Newcastle Eagles. In July 2015 Ikhinmwin became Lions’ team captain. In November 2015 Ikhinmwin’s contribution helped the Lions in the game against Worcester Wolves earn a place in the semi-finals of the Cup.
