Jimmy Marku (Albanian: Xhimi Marku, born 27 August 1974) is an Albanian born British strongman who is a fierce competitor.
Marku was able to climb to the upper echelons of the competition for strongmen after he was awarded the UK’s Strongest Man competition in 2006. He then went on to compete in Britain’s Strongest Man (known as the “UKSC” because it is managed through the UK Strength Council) that year, where he finished third, just behind Glenn Ross and Terry Hollands. In 2007, he repeated his feat of becoming England’s strongest man title. In the same year, He competed in British’s Strongest Man (“BSM”) finals as well as in the UKSC where he did one better than he did in the year 2006 and finished third (again in the hands of Glenn Ross). The year before, he took part in the qualification round to the World’s Strongest Man contest, coming third by a half point in the group 4 in front of the eventual winner Mariusz Pudzianowski and Dave Ostlund.
