1986. He was re-elected in 1998 and is currently in his fifth term having been re-elected in 2017. During that time he served as Deputy Chair of the Committee for Health, Social Services and Public Safety before he was appointed as Minister of Health in September 2014 where he served until his removal in May 2015.
