Jesse Carlson is one of the most popular and richest Baseball Player who was born on December 31, 1980 in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. The next day when he was playing the Texas Rangers at the Rogers Centre on the 16th of April, Carlson came on in the 11th inning, with the bases loaded but no one left. In a remarkable and unusual feat, he struck out the side in 12 pitches. It was an unprecedented first since 1960, when a reliever has come into a game for extra innings, with the opposing team loading up the bases without a chance to strike and striking out the opposing team. Carlson was also one of the pitchers of MLB history to accomplish this feat in only his third and final game. Carlson was then able to pitch the 12th inning before being relieved just before the the 13th. In the end, his efforts were unsuccessful as the Jays were defeated in the 15th innings and A. J. Burnett was the loser on relief (his first appearance in relief after 2004).
Carlson was selected to the Detroit Tigers in 2002. He was within the minors leagues over seven years in four different teams before making his debut in the major leagues as a member of Toronto Blue Jays Toronto Blue Jays on April 10 in 2008. The game was played with the Oakland Athletics in the top of the 12th inning, with the bases loaded following Brandon League allowed two runs to Oakland to break the tie. Carlson hit out Daric Barton in the 12th inning to end the innings.
On December 11, 2011, the Boston Red Sox signed Carlson to a minor league contract. He also received an invitation to spring training. On June 16, 2012, the Red Sox released Carlson.
Carlson primarily relied on his 88–90 mph four-seam fastball and his 81–85 MPH slider. He also threw an occasional curveball from 77–80 mph, an 80–84 mph changeup, and a rare two-seam fastball at 82–84 mph.
In the final stretch of the 2008 season the team had a 7-2 record and became the most successful relief player in the club’s history since Paul Quantrill had 11 wins during the 2001 season.
