Jason has been a resident of Denmark, Belgium, the U.S., and France. Since 2007 Jason is living in Montpellier and his most recent graphic novels were initially printed in French.

He’s been nominated for Two Ignatz Awards; (2000: Outstanding Story and Outstanding Series 2001 Outstanding story and outstanding series) The series has been recognized in Time and was awarded the Harvey Award for best new talent in 2002. numerous Eisner Awards.

Jason is a native of Molde He had his work first published in 1981 by KonK, the Norwegian comics publication KonK in which Jason contributed a number of short stories over the course of its existence. He graduated in 1989 and was accepted into the Norwegian National Academy of the Arts in which he studied graphic illustration and design. He was awarded the Norwegian Comics Association award in 1991 for his work in the form of a short pervo.

The year 1995 was the time Jason released his debut graphic novel Lomma full of av (Pocket full of rain) in which he received the Sproing Award. In 1997, he began producing Mjau Mjau an irregular comic book that is entirely his own work. The year 2001 was the time he received again recognized with the Sproing award, this time to promote Mjau Mjau 10. In 2002, Jason has concentrated on creating graphic novels.
