Jason Tyler Candle (born November 12th 1979) is a American football coach, who is currently the head coach of football at Toledo University of Toledo. He was an assistant coach at Toledo from 2009 as well as at Mount Union before that. Candle was a in the wide receiver position at Mount Union and Geneva.
Toledo was named Candle as their coach on December 2 of 2015, just after Campbell left to join Iowa State University.
Candle quit Mount Union in 2009 to be the tight ends/slot receivers trainer at Toledo Under Tim Beckman. He returned to Toledo with Campbell and was then the running game manager. Toledo made Candle to coach of wide receivers in 2010 where he worked with the All-American Eric Page. Toledo also promoted Campbell into head coach towards the end of 2011, following Beckman was appointed the head coach of Beckman’s University of Illinois. Campbell kept Candle and was promoted as offensive coordinator. Candle was promoted to the position of assistant head coach in 2014.

Candle was born in Salem, Ohio. He was a wide receiver initially in Geneva College (1998-1999) and later in Mount Union (2000-2001). The two Mount Union teams he played on took home their respective Division III championship. Candle left Mount Union in 2003.
After graduation, Candle stayed on at Mount Union and joined the coaching team in the role of wide receivers’ coach, which he did from 2003 to 2006. The year 2007 saw him promoted to offensive coordinator. Mount Union promoted him to offensive coordinator and replaced Matt Campbell, who had been hired by Bowling Green.
