Bishop is born Jasane Castro on the 23rd of January 1978, in Newark, New Jersey to Josefina Castro Hernandez. Bishop, along with several children were taken to the St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at a young age. After being within the institution for a short period of time, Bishop and his siblings were admitted to Foster Care. They were placed in various foster homes across Pennsylvania which included Philadelphia, Easton, Fleetwood, Leesport, and Allentown, PA. Bishop continued to be relocated around from foster to homes until he reached the age of 18 years aged. In these years that he discovered a keen curiosity for magic. He would visit local libraries to find books on illusions and magic. He also began to teaching himself tricks of the trade and manipulating cards. Bishop then began attending meetings of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.) Ring 32 events in Allentown and further enhancing his fascination and understanding of magic and illusions.

Jason Bishop (born Jasane Castro 23 January 1978) is an American magician and illusionist and is one of the most popular traveling illusion and magic performances throughout the United States. Bishop has been the recipient of a variety of awards for magic such as the Jack Gwynne award in recognition of Excellence in Presentation. He also was named the 2006 Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) Best Performer of the Year. Bishop performs on average 150 shows annually that include luxury cruise vessels and theaters, performing arts centers and corporate occasions. His shows have been performed across both the United States and Europe and is regarded as “one of the greatest modern illusionists of our time”.

Jason was a student at Salisbury High School, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Fleetwood Area High School, located in Fleetwood, PA. At 15 years old, when he was in 9th grade Bishop started performing for celebrations for birthdays and holidays as well as for small crowds. It was during that year, his final one in Fleetwood High that Bishop met Kim Hess and began working alongside her as her assistant. Bishop continued to study at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, as a theater major however, he did not earn an education. He continued to grow as a magician and started performing more elaborate shows and illusions.
