Jane Wright is one of the most popular and richest Swimmer who was born on March 23, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jane Wright was born on October 24, 1954 in Ontario. Queens University, Kingston, Ontario was where she studied. She became interested in entomology when she was referred to the University of Guelph in Southern Ontario. This is the only Canadian university with an entomology section. Wright was working on her master’s at the University of Guelph. She initially wanted to study apple maggots, but John Laing convinced her to focus on ladybird beetles because not as much research had been done. Wright spent a lot of time field-examining ladybird beetles and determining their winter conditions. It was difficult to carry tools, traps, and specimens in remote areas. To recover the specimens, she dug traps from frozen ground.

Wright received her Bachelor of Science (Hons), degree in 1976 from Queen’s University, Canada. In 1978, Wright received her Masters of Science degree from the University of Guelph in Canada. She was researching the biology of ladybeetles. In 1984, she received her doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley. She was researching parasitic wasp biology.

Wright completed her PhD and worked for CSIRO-Australia on research about dung beetles. Both in Africa and Australia, the buffalo fly is a problem for livestock. It can consume up to 20 blood-meals per day and cause bleeding ulcerations. CSIRO Australia was looking for a parasitic insect to import from Africa to Australia in order to control the buffalo fly population. When Wright joined the CSIRO-Australia Africa research team, dung beetles were already identified as a potential control method for the buffalo fly population. Wright’s research focused on identifying the best species to serve this purpose. There are more than 250 species of dungbeetles that feed upon buffalo fly larvae and use them as parasitic hosts.
