Olde Riekerink was Ajax’s coach from 1995 to 2002. Later, he managed Gent in Belgium and FC Emmen in Holland. He was also Assistant Manager at Porto in Portugal and Metalurh Donetsk. In April 2007, he was named Head of Jong Ajax Youth Development. On 15 June, it was announced Olde Riekerink would resign his position as Head of the club’s Youth Development after a dispute with Johan Cruyff.
On 6 November 2019 he was presented as the new coach of South African club Cape Town City.
