Ivan Lewis (born 4 March 1967) is a British politician who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Bury South from 1997 to 2019. A former member of the Labour Party he sat in the House of Commons as an independent from December 2018 until the 2019 General Election. In the election, he stood as an Independent candidate, but during the course of the campaign urged voters to support the Conservative candidate, Christian Wakeford, citing his concerns at Labour’s leadership and manifesto. Wakeford ultimately gained the seat from Labour.
