Idham Azis is one of the most popular and richest Police who was born on January 30, 1963 in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Azis was born on the 30th of January , 1963. He was born in the Kampung Salo neighborhood of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi as the second child of five and completed the first 12 years of his education at Kendari’s public schools before applying to the Police Academy. He was initially rejected, and he was accepted in the Faculty of Agriculture at the Haluoleo University, but he applied again for admission to the Police Academy, and he was accepted on the third attempt. He was accepted into the academy and graduated in the class of 1988.

In the following years, he was in other posts within the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) before joining Jakarta Police in 2008. Jakarta Police and becoming the Chief of Police for West Jakarta in 2008. In 2010 he became the deputy Chief of Densus police, and had Tito Karnavian as the chief. He was elevated to the rank of police brigadier general following the expiration of his tenure as deputy chief. During this time, his position was changed to Bareskrim. He was Chief of Police in Central Sulawesi for some time in addition to other posts, prior to being named chief of Jakarta Police in 2017. On the 22nd of January, 2019 the appointment was made as Chief of Bareskrim in Bareskrim, his position at the time being chief inspector (two- star).

In the wake of Tito’s appointment as Minister of Home Affairs, Tito as Secretary of Home Affairs, Azis was appointed and sworn in as the Chief of the National Police on 1 November 2019. In the course of his new position Azis was elevated to the rank of a four-star police general.

Idham Azis (born 30 January 1963) is an Indonesian police chief. The current position is chief of the Indonesian National Police, having been serving since November. He was born in Kendari. He started his career with the Police force back in 1988 and was a part of several anti-terrorism activities before assuming various high-ranking positions, including chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police and the Criminal Investigation Agency.

He started his career with the Police Department within the Bandung City Police, where the officer held various positions and posts until 1999, when he was transferred onto the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. In 2004, he was the deputy chief of police in West Jakarta, and later was assigned into Central Sulawesi. In 2005 He joined Densus 88. Soon after, he was involved in a counter-terrorism raid that resulted in the murder of Azahari Husin. He received an award for his role. He also conducted an investigation into the beheadings in 2005 of 3 Christian females in Poso.
