Ian Culverhouse is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on September 22, 1964 in Bishop's Stortford, England, United Kingdom. Ian Brett Culverhouse, born 22 September 1964, is an English former professional footballer who is currently the King’s Lynn Town’s first-team manager. He was a right-back defender.
Culverhouse was out of favor after a contract dispute and was dropped from the team’s first team in the 1994-1995 season. Culverhouse was sold to Swindon Town at PS150,000 to the dismay of many Norwich fans. In 1998, he was released by the Robins and briefly played for Kingstonian Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion. While at Brighton, he was the youth coach. He was subsequently a youth coach at Wycombe Wanderers, Leyton Orient, and Barnet.
Culverhouse was named Colchester United assistant manager under Paul Lambert. Culverhouse, Lambert and ‘football operations manager’, Gary Karsa all resigned from Colchester to take up positions at Norwich City on 17 August 2009.
On 5 July 2012, it was confirmed that Culverhouse and Gary Karsa would be joining Paul Lambert at Aston Villa, following him from Norwich City. Having been in charge of the majority of the training sessions at the club, he was dismissed in May 2014, following an internal investigation into off-field allegations. Having worked with Paul Lambert at Norwich City, Wycombe Wanderers, Colchester United and then Aston Villa, the duo were now separated.
Culverhouse was injured during the 1986-87 season and found himself in contention for a first team spot alongside Kenny Brown, the manager’s son. Culverhouse was able to regain his first place in the team and maintained a consistent level of performance for nearly a decade. Culverhouse was part of some the most memorable moments in Norwich’s club history, including the 1988-89 season when Norwich came close to winning the League/FA Cup double, the 1992-1993 campaign, in which the Canaries placed third in the FA Premier League’s inaugural season, and the subsequent European campaign 1993-1994. Culverhouse performed well on the European stage. He was a sweeper in a system that Mike Walker had developed for the European campaign. However, he missed the away leg at Inter Milan’s Giuseppe Miazza stadium – which saw City be eliminated from the UEFA Cup – because he had been suspended.
