Humberto Alejandro Castro-Ward was born December 15, 1984 in Ciudad Juarez (Chihuahua), Mexico. After his parents divorced, he moved to El Paso in Texas when he was 13. He received his first camera as a Christmas gift at age 15. He began to write short scripts and made short films with family and friends shortly thereafter. In 2003, he graduated from Father Yermo High School. He then attended The University of Texas at El Paso to earn his B.A. He received his B.A. in Psychology in 2003 and a Minor in Criminal Justice in 2010.
Castro lives in El Paso Texas, and is married to Lorraine Sanchez.
He then starred in his first feature film called El Sueño (2016); which he co- wrote, co-produced, co-directed and was inspired by his own personal experiences. Two and a half years later, he and his wife released the short psychological thriller I Am Psycho (2018); completing the trilogy that began with their first two short films. By this point in his acting career, he wanted to test his versatility as an actor and challenged himself by playing more complex characters. He then proceeded to make a documentary-style feature film about an unsolved missing persons case from 2003 called The Confession Project (2020); working alongside his wife and younger brother once again.
On December 15, 2011, he was sworn in as a naturalized U.S. citizen in El Paso (Texas). On July 12, 2006, he became legal U.S. citizen.
