Howard Eastman is one of the most popular and richest Boxer who was born on December 8, 1970 in New Amsterdam, Guyana. Howard Anthony Eastman, a Guyanese/British former professional fighter who competed between 1994 and 2014. He was a challenger twice for the middleweight world championships. In 2001, he won the vacant WBA title. In 2005, he held the undisputed title against Bernard Hopkins. He held the British, Commonwealth, and EBU European middleweight titles twice at regional level between 1998-2007.

In 2002, Eastman was reintroduced under the Hennessy Sports promotional outfit and was trained by McCracken, a former opponent. Eastman was knocked out by Hussain Osman and Chardan Ansoula, respectively. In January 2003, he regained the European title against Christophe Tendil from France. He was left with a broken jaw and had to stop him in five rounds. Scott Dann, who was in his third round, regained both his British and Commonwealth titles. He twice defended his European title, defeating ex-world champion Hacine Cherifi after eight rounds in July 2003. In January 2004, he defeated Sergey Tatevoysan.

Now with a 40-1 record and highly ranked by all sanctioning bodies, Eastman finally got the forty-year-old undisputed Middleweight king Bernard Hopkins into the ring to defend his titles, in February 2005 in Los Angeles. Eastman was outsmarted and widely outpointed by Hopkins (110-119, 111-117, 112-116) who was making his historic 20th defence. Post-fight there was initial talk of a rematch, however as the scores suggest the contest for not close enough for this to materialize.

On 15 December 2006, he regained his British Middleweight title by knocking out Richard Williams in the 12th and final round in London, England. Eastman was well ahead on all scorecards by the time the match ended.

After putting together a 31-0 record (28 knockouts), he was able to fight Robert McCracken for his vacant European title. McCracken had previously challenged Keith Holmes for WBC’s world title in 2001.

After spending some time homeless, Eastman served in the Royal Fusiliers in the Gulf War. With a knockout of John Rice in the first round, Eastman became a professional boxer in March 1994. He was a well-known heavy puncher in the UK gyms where he sparred regularly with Super Middleweights such as Chris Eubank. His career was slow and low-profile for many years, as other British boxers were reluctantly to face him. Before he was challenged by Steve Foster for the British Middleweight title in November 1998, he had an 18-0 (16 knockouts record). He won via 7th round knockout. He won the Commonwealth Middleweight title in September 2000 by defeating Sam Soliman (an Australian- based Egyptian and future #1 contender), and began to receive more media coverage.

Don King, a U.S. promoter signed him up after the match. He fought William Joppy in November 2001 for the vacant WBA title. The fight was on a Lennox Lewis Undercard in Las Vegas. Eastman lost in a controversial majority decision to Joppy, who was knocked down in the 12th round. Eastman retired from fighting after this fight and allowed King to terminate his contract.

Eastman travelled to Germany in July 2005 to fight a WBA eliminator against hard hitting Armenian Arthur Abraham, Eastman lost the fight on points however claimed he had been robbed of the decision. Abraham went on to win the vacant IBF world title after the unified middleweight title was fractured after Hopkins lost to Jermain Taylor.
