Henry, who was trying to clear the ball for the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualifier against Israel U21 in March 2005, conceded an own goal in the 6th minute. He then deflected the ball into the net. He was able to score a goal in the 35th minute with a header thanks to Willo Flood’s free kick. The match ended 3-1 for Ireland U21.
After impressing for Portadown, Henry got the chance to move to Royal Antwerp FC. However, due to homesickness, McStay ended his contract with the Belgian club at the end of January 2008 and went in search of a new start in Britain.
In June 2010 Henry moved to Portadown whom he previously played for signing a one-year contract. Due to personal commitments a move to Bradford Park Avenue arose where Henry spent just over a season before retiring due to a recurring knee injury.
Henry was on loan to Halifax Town during his search for first team football. After sustaining a knee injury, Henry’s loan move to Halifax Town was terminated in November 2004.
