Hege Riise is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on July 18, 1969 in Lørenskog, Norway. Hege Riise, a former female Norwegian footballer, was born 18 July 1969.

In 2000, she joined Asker FK in Oslo and won the cup competition again with Asker that year. Riise, who was drafted by the Carolina Courage in 2000’s Women’s United Soccer Association Foreign Draft, was named team’s MVP twice and helped the Courage win the WUSA Founders Cup title. The Norwegian Football Association named Riise as the greatest female Norwegian footballer in 2003.

Riise retired as a player at the end of the 2006 season with 188 international caps to her credit, the record for all Norwegian footballers. In 2007, she became the chief trainer at Team Strømmen, in the Norwegian women’s premier league, the Toppserien. In the 2008 season, Team Strømmen were runners-up in both the league and the Cup competitions.

Returning to Norway in 2005 Hege Riise joined Team Strømmen of Oslo and became the club’s playing assistant trainer in 2006. She played her last top-level match with Team Strømmen on 28 October 2006 aged 37 and retired from football as a player.

Riise’s greatest achievement in Norway was the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She won the gold medal and became one of three women worldwide to win the Olympics, World Cup, and European Championship.

Riise made her international debut in 1990 with the Norwegian national soccer team. Norway won the UEFA Women’s Championship 1993. She won the 1993 FIFA Women’s Championship with Norway and received the Golden Ball.
