Rosenfield was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1952 and grew up in Randolph. His father was an accountant and his mother, a painter and poet. After Proposition 103 passed, Rosenfield told the Wall Street Journal that he gotten inquiries from public interest groups “in at least 30 other states expressing interest in launching Proposition 103-style initiatives.”
