Hans Segers is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on October 30, 1961 in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Johannes “Hans” Segers, a former professional Dutch footballer who was born 30 October 1961, is a goalkeeper.

He was charged with match fixing in 1994. This included Bruce Grobbelaar (Little Liverpool goalkeeper), John Fashanu (Wimbledon striker), and a Malaysian businessman. In 1997, the case was referred by Winchester Crown Court to a criminal trial. All four defendants were cleared. The Football Association found Grobbelaar, Segers guilty of violating betting regulations in December 1997.

He was goalkeeper-coach at Tottenham Hotspur until 26 October 2007 when he was asked to stand down with immediate effect following the sacking of Martin Jol.

In June 2011, new Fulham manager Martin Jol brought Segers in as his goalkeeping coach, the pair having worked together at Tottenham previously.

After the 1988 FA Cup victory, his career was revived by Wimbledon, where he was appointed as the replacement for Dave Beasant. He would be the club’s first goalkeeper for the next eight seasons and make 265 league appearances. He was not able to help Wimbledon win more silverware but they finished 14th in top flight during his eight seasons with them. They also reached the FA Premier League’s sixth spot in 1994.

He was a goalkeeper for eight years from 1981 to 2001. His most notable time as a player was with Wimbledon, where he played in the Premier League. He was also a player in England’s top flight, playing for Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest. He had stints with PSV Eindhoven in his Netherlands and Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland. He was then signed by Brian Clough for Nottingham Forest during the 1983-84 season. He played 32 matches for Forest in his first season, but was replaced by Steve Sutton. In 1985-86, he also played 12 matches. In 1986-87, he made 18 appearances and signed on loan for Stoke City in March 1987. He played in a match in the Second Division for the “Potters”, which was a 4-1 loss away to West Bromwich Albion. Segers was unable to join the Forest team in 1987-88 so he spent his time on loan at Sheffield United, and Dunfermline Athletic.

In the summer of 1996, Segers signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers as understudy to Mike Stowell. A brief spell in the Conference with Woking followed, before he made a remarkable return to the Premier League scene with Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent three years (playing just one league game) as a standby goalkeeper until he finally retired in the summer of 2001, a few months before his 40th birthday.
