Han Bi-ya, Korean: Hanbiya, was born 26 June 1958 in Seoul (South Korea), and is a Korean writer, humanitarian, refugee advocate, and relief worker. She is the leader of World Vision Korea’s Emergency Relief Team and has written a number best-selling books about travel. Hankyoreh lists her as one of the top South Korean celebrities. She was also voted one of the most trusted Koreans by students in a 2009 survey. She left World Vision in August 2009 to pursue her studies at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy about humanitarian support and work.

Han Bi-ya attended Seungeui Girls’ High School (sungyiyeojagodeunghaggyo) in Seoul. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Utah and studied English literature at Hongik University. She studied 2009 at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

After publishing “March to the World, Off the Map”, she began public lecture activities. In 2012, she was appointed as a visiting professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Ewha Womans University.

Based on the 2005 World Vision overseas contribution, which has increased from the 2005 “March to the World Off the Map” publication in 2005, it has produced relief teams and collaborated with WFP (World Food Program).
