His father fled Afghanistan to seek work in England when he was one. Qadri’s father left to find work in England. The rest of his family could not follow him and were only able reunite with him when he was 10. Qadri was not familiar with Kandahar cricket and developed an interest in it after his family settled in Derby. He learned about spin bowling by watching videos of well-known players. He was 12 years old when he began playing cricket in Alvaston & Boulton Cricket Club’s Derbyshire Premier Cricket League alongside Iain O’Brien, a former New Zealand player. Qadri was nicknamed “The Magician” by O’Brien and became Qadri’s mentor.
On 26 June 2017, he made his first-class Derbyshire debut against Glamorgan at Cardiff in 2017 County Championship. He took five wickets in the second inning. He was the first player born in 2000 to participate in the County Championship, and the youngest person to represent Derbyshire in an introductory match.
Born in Afghanistan and moving to England with his family at the age of 10, Qadri made his first-class cricket debut for Derbyshire in June 2017, becoming the first player born in 2000 to appear in the County Championship and Derbyshire’s youngest ever first-class player.
In September 2019, Qadri joined Kent County Cricket Club ahead of the 2020 season. The following month, he was named in the England under-19 cricket team’s squad for a 50-over tri-series in the Caribbean. In December 2019, he was named in England’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
On 16 July 2017, he made his Twenty20 debut for Derbyshire against Lancashire in the 2017 NatWest t20 Blast.
