Gyton Stephen Grantley, born 1 July 1980, is an Australian comedian and actor. He is best known for his role as Carl Williams, convicted murderer, and drug dealer, in Underbelly. Grantley was nominated for Most Outstanding Actor and Most Popular Actor at the 2009 TV Week Logie Awards. The 2008 AFI award (winning the Most Outstanding Actor of a Drama Series) was also presented. Grantley was awarded the Logie Award 2009 for Most Outstanding Actor. He has been Kane Albert’s portrayal in House Husbands since 2012.

Two short films were submitted to the Tropfest Short Film Festival 2009. Grantley was in Being Carl Williams, where he is taken hostage by two criminals. They mistake Grantley for Carl Williams, after his role in Underbelly.

In 2012, Grantley was cast in a new series, House Husbands, playing the character Kane Albert. In 2015, Grantley left the series after its fourth season, however returned in the fifth season finale for a brief appearance.

He was announced in late 2013 that he would be reprising his role of Carl Williams in the sequel/spin-off series Fat Tony & Co. which was not placed under the Underbelly franchise (due to financing reasons) and focused on the rise and fall of Tony Mokbel, who also featured in the original series, played by Robert Mammone.

Grantley rose to fame in 2008 with Underbelly, a high-rated drama where he played the antagonist and criminal Carl Williams. He won the Logies ‘Most Outstanding Actor Award’ for this role.

Grantley attended the Anglican Church Grammar School, Brisbane, from which he graduated in 1997. Grantley was an athlete in rugby union and a rower during his school years. He was also involved in theatre-sports and drama, winning the Headmaster’s Prize in Drama his senior year. Later, he attended the Queensland University of Technology.
