Finkler was a debutant with the Victory in the opening round of play against rivals from across the border Melbourne Heart. After playing infrequently for the Victory but suffering an injury that would end his season at the end of round 12 in the match against A-League rookie team Western Sydney Wanderers, when his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptured during the course of a powerful strike. Finkler returned to disappoint Western Sydney but the ACL injury required surgery in a different country, speaking a different language and rehabilitation for over one year. Before his injury, Finkler been the top player in the A-League season’s assists total for 2012/13 with eight. He returned to the field in the season 2013-2014.

Finkler scored his club’s first penalty of the season against Perth on New Year’s Eve, 2013, in the absence of the previous season’s penalty taker Mark Milligan.

On 22 February, Finkler scored two goals and played a full match for the first time in the season as the game against Adelaide United finished 4–3 in his club’s favour.

Finkler was a part of Brazilian club Juventude He scored four goals in 15 appearances during Juventude’s 2006 season. Following his return from a loan stint at Cianorte the club, Finkler played in three matches more in 2007. Finkler’s next Brazilian club is Juventude’s main city Rival, Caxias.

Guilherme Finkler (born 24 September 1985) is a Brazilian footballer who is an attack midfielder. He is popularly known by the name of Guilherme to Brazil in Brazil and Gui Finkler throughout Australia as well as New Zealand.

Finkler was a player during his time in Europe in the course of 2006/07 campaign, during which he was a player at the English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was so impressive in pre-season games, scoring a number of goals that the club opted to grant him a loan option for the season. However, he did not make an appearance for the first team in competition games. In the end, he failed to stake his claim to the side the loan was slashed in January 2007 through mutual agreement. Finkler was able to stay in Europe by completing the 2006-07 season on loan with Belgian Pro League side Mouscron.
