He won the Eastern College Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis title, was awarded an NCAA tournament entry in both doubles and singles and was also nominated as Harvard’s Male Athlete of the Freshman of the Year. As a sophomore in the years 2015-16 his singles record was 9-6 and 1-1 in doubles. When he was an undergraduate in 2016-17, the singles player was 12-12 and won his first Ivy League Men’s Tennis title. He had a stellar senior year with the team, dominating the field in wins for doubles and singles.
Solomon was featured in Sports Illustrated Magazine in Faces in the Crowd published in stores on May 14, 2014, for an undefeated high school career. He was one of the few tennis players to do so since the piece began. He joined the company of former and current professional athletes such as John McEnroe, Althea Gibson, Jack Nicklaus, Arthur Ashe, Billie Jean King, Kareem Abdul- Jabbar, Greg LeMond, Emmitt Smith, Spud Webb, Tiger Woods, Tim Tebow, Andy Roddick, and Marion Jones.
His parents Mark Solomon and Kathleen Wu are both attorneys. He attended Greenhill School from first grade on through high school, and graduated high school in 2014.
In high school the four-time All-Southwest Preparatory Conference selection as well as two-time All-American. He concluded with his Greenhill Hornets career with a 48-0 record and never dropped an entire set. He was described as the top 3 recruit in the United States and, as per the United States Tennis Association, was granted a wildcard for the U.S. Open Qualifying after his debut on the pro circuit in Houston.
