Graham Kavanagh is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on December 2, 1973 in Dublin, Ireland. Graham Anthony Kavanagh (born 2 December 1973) is a former Irish football coach and former professional player.
In the 2004-05 season Cardiff Chairman Sam Hammam revealed that the club was facing financial difficulties and, as a result, a number of players quit the club in an attempt to make up for losses, such as Kavanagh who was signed by Wigan Athletic for a fee around PS400,000. While at Wigan Kavanagh was a player during the 2006 Football League Cup Final. On August 31, 2006 the player signed an agreement for three years for Roy Keane’s Sunderland for a fee of PS500,000. The season that he was in spanned 14 games, scoring a goal against Leeds but was forced to miss most of the games because of lingering injuries.
Kavanagh joined League One side Carlisle United on a month’s loan on 10 October 2008. This loan was extended for a further month on 7 November. It was again extended on 18 December and would expire on 3 January 2009.
On 9 January 2009, Kavanagh was released by Sunderland and returned to Carlisle on a permanent basis as a player-coach. In April 2013, Kavanagh continued his post as Assistant Manager at the end of the 2012–13 season, after signing a new one-year deal. In September 2013 manager Greg Abbott was sacked and Kavanagh was installed as caretaker manager. Kavanagh was then appointed manager on a permanent basis on 30 September 2013 signing a two-year contract. Carlisle were 22nd on the ladder at the time of Kavanagh’s caretaker appointment, and finished the 2013-14 season in the same position, to be relegated to League Two. After a poor start to the 2014–15 season Kavanagh left Carlisle on 1 September 2014.
Kavanagh has won sixteen international caps in Ireland. Republic of Ireland, the final one was on August 16, 2006, to take on the Netherlands.

Kavanagh was a player at Home Farm, before joining Middlesbrough in 1991, but struggled to hold an opening in the first team and was eventually sold to Stoke City in 1996, after a brief loan period at the club, in exchange for PS250,000. In 1996-97, he played 41 appearances and scored four goals, including the goal that was scored on the Victoria Ground against West Bromwich Albion. Kavanagh additionally had the distinction of scoring Stoke’s first goal in the Britannia Stadium in a League Cup match against Rochdale. Kavanagh scored 10 goals in 1997-98 when Stoke was relegated to the third division. In 1998-99, he was the top scorer with 13 goals, but failed to make a sustained push for promotion Under Brian Little in 1998-99. In 1999-2000, Kavanagh had 10 points in the period when Stoke made it to the play-offs, where they fell to Gillingham. Kavanagh also scored and played at the 2000 Football League Trophy final when Stoke defeated Bristol City 2-1. He returned to the team in the 2000-01 season as Stoke was unable to win the play-offs but this time lost to Walsall. He was released from Stoke at the end of summer 2001, having made 244 appearances, scoring 45 goals.
He was signed by Cardiff City in July 2001 for PS1 million. He was able to score 15 times during his first season with the club. He also helped them climb the ranks next year, after they defeated Queens Park Rangers in the Second Division play-off final. The Cardiff City player scored one goal when they infamously knocked out Premiership Leeds United in the FA Cup third round in 2002.
He joined Sheffield Wednesday on 21 September 2007 on a loan deal to regain his fitness where he played seven games, scoring one goal against Watford on 2 October. On 29 December, Leicester City made a bid for Kavanagh, together with Márton Fülöp. However, on 31 January 2008 Kavanagh again joined Wednesday on a loan deal until the end of the season.
