Graham Hopkins (born 20 December 1975) is a well-known Irish drummer from Ireland. He plays drums in The Swell Season, The Frames and the former drummer of the hard rock/punk group Therapy?.

Hopkins followed up to make 2 albums under his personal group Halite. Halite was originally an independent project by Graham Hopkins, and launched with the critically-acclaimed debut album “Head On” with Warner Bros. Records in 2003. “Head On” was an out of sync rock album that was melodic and mellow. He played the majority of the instruments on the record , but needed help from musicians in live performances. He asked his pals Binzer Brennan Keith Farrell and Derren Dempsey if they wanted to perform with him. Halite then became an entirely formed group. They would later record and released their sophomore album “Courses” in 2004. Courses was more of an edge of frantic and harder than their first album. Halite played a number of shows during the next two years, opening for the Slane Concert in 2003 for Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters. The group was also invited to perform shows with bands like My Morning Jacket, Mudhoney, Gomez, Sebadoh. In the beginning of 2005 due to commitments to other projects by each of the members, the band was placed on hold.

Hopkins was a member of Dublin band Boss Volenti for three years. He drummed on their self-titled debut album released in 2006 but left the band immediately after their appearance at Electric Picnic 2008.

He drummed on Dolores O’Riordan’s debut solo album, Are You Listening? in 2007 before embarking on a worldwide tour with her.

Are you bored with the direction that the band took in its music Therapy?, Graham left the group in December 2001. He was then asked to join forces along with Irish musician and singer Gemma Hayes. Graham was on tour along with Gemma Hayes for over a year, in support of the Mercury Music Prize nominated record Night on My Side.

Hopkins was born in Dublin and grew up within Clane, County Kildare in a family of musicians (his father Des was a drummer in the jazz scene). He was immersed in music since a young age, and started playing the drums when he was about 4 or 5 years of age. He joined the band in 1993. quit his school in order to form My Little Funhouse, a group from County Kilkenny. They had already launched their first album,, Standunder with Geffen Records, when Graham joined. The group toured for nearly one year to promote the album, mostly throughout America. United States. The tour included support for Guns N”Roses as well as The Ramones amongst others. The group then stayed the city of Los Angeles and recorded a second album for Geffen before dissolving.

Hopkins was able to move on and joined the renowned Northern Irish band Therapy? in 1996. They recorded three studio albums: Semi-Detached Suicide Pact – You First, Shameless – and recorded new songs with Therapy? as part of and the Ten Year Plan: A Review of 1990-2000. The first time he performed in public with Therapy? It was The IRMA Awards, Dublin on 29 March 1996. Hopkins was the first to perform a full-length show with Therapy? at a fan-club members-only concert in The Attic, Dublin on 10 April 1996. The last time he performed was held at The Ambassador Theatre, Dublin on 8 December 2001.

Hopkins appeared as part of the band on the 2006 Oxfam charity album, The Cake Sale.
