Graeme Garry Shinnie (born 4 August 1991) is a Scottish professional footballer who is a player for Derby County as a left back or central midfielder. He previously played in the clubs of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Forres Mechanics and Aberdeen. Shinnie made his debut world-wide appearance with Scotland in May of 2018.
In the 2011-12 season the brother of Graeme Andrew joined Inverness as a free- transfer from Rangers. Shinnie got his goal for the first time in the Inverness career on the 27th of August 2011 in a 2-1 victory against Kilmarnock and, following the game Manager Terry Butcher expressed delighted for Shinnie on scoring his first goal. After a 3-1 loss to Dundee United on 17 September 2011 captain Richie Foran spoke about Shinnie saying that he was deserving of pass praise. After a two-month absence from the team, Shinnie made his return in a 2-1 defeat against Rangers on the 17th of December, 2011. Despite his performance, Butcher praised the returning Shinnie and Lee Cox. On December 12, 2012 Shinnie was granted a contract renewal, which will keep the player until 2015. He committed to staying with the club.
In January 2015 it was announced that Shinnie had signed a three-year contract with Aberdeen, despite interest from Football League Championship clubs, and would join the club when the summer transfer window opened in June 2015. He made his competitive debut for Aberdeen on 2 July 2015, against FK Shkëndija in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. He scored his first goal for Aberdeen on 9 August 2015, in a 2–0 league win against Kilmarnock.
In the 2014 Scottish League Cup Final, Shinnie played throughout the match until it went to a penalty shoot-out, won by opponents Aberdeen. He was selected in the 2013–14 Premiership PFA Scotland Team of the Year. In April 2015, Shinnie helped Inverness to reach the Scottish Cup Final; Caley went on to win the trophy, beating Falkirk 2–1 on 30 May 2015, with Shinnie lifting the trophy as captain in his last game for the club.
Shinnie is the brother to fellow soccer player Andrew Shinnie, who joined Shinnie at Inverness in the year 2011. The first time the brothers played one against each other in a game was during the 2017 Scottish Cup semi-final, between Andrew’s Hibernian and the team of Graeme Aberdeen. The brothers were raised at Cove Bay and attended Kincorth Academy.

Shinnie began his professional career playing at a club for boys in Aberdeen along with his brother Andrew. He was signed up to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in July 2009, aged of 17 years old. He made his debut as a senior with them during the Scottish League Cup on 1 August 2009, and made his League debut on September 26, 2009.
Shinnie was loaned with Forres Mechanics in the Scottish Highland Football League in February of 2010. His loan period was extended to the end this season. Shinnie was offered an extension to his contract by Inverness on November 30, 2010, and signed a 3-year contract on 13 December. He was suffering from an intestinal issue which prevented his playing from the months of January and August.
Shinnie made his debut for the Scotland national under-21 football team in April 2012. On 29 September 2015, he was called up to the senior squad by Alex McLeish for games against Poland and Gibraltar. He was called up again in October 2017, and in May 2018.
