The birthplace of Kijera was Hernani, Gipuzkoa, Kijera graduated from the youth program of Real Sociedad however, he made his debut as a senior in the lower leagues of CD Hernani. In the summer of 2007, Kijera was a part of SD Lemona in Segunda Division B.
