Howard Gordon Wilcock (born 26 February 1950) is an former English cricketer , who played First-Class as well as list A cricket with Worcestershire during the 1970s.

Wilcock returned in 1974, with him and Cass each making a variety of appearances as wicketkeepers when Worcestershire took home the County Championship. In August 1974, he made six wickets in the second innings of the match against Hampshire at Portsmouth and matched the county record for the Championship match. Unfortunately for the player, his efforts were unsuccessful since Worcestershire was hammered by an innings in just two days.

1978 saw the arrival of David Humphries, who quickly became Worcestershire’s number one keeper, and Wilcock played only one first-team game – his last – that year, a first-class match against Oxford University at Worcester. He held four catches, but made a duck in his only innings.

He made his debut in the first-class with Oxford University at The University Parks in May 1971 however, in a game impacted by weather, he could not bat and only managed to get one dismissal, grabbing the catch to get rid of John Ward. He was still in the team in his place in the County Championship game against Lancashire the following day, and in that game the first time he was stumped, he did so and accounted for Farokh Engineer from the bat of Norman Gifford. He was the first choice in the keeper position for the remainder of the season. He replaced Rodney Cass.

Wilcock was recruited by Worcestershire in the year 1968, after having been seen playing cricket in the club of Ilkley Cricket Club. Wilcock made an appearance in the Second XI appearance for the county in the same season, as well as many others in 1969, but Brian Krikken prevented his standing as keeper until the close this year. Wilcock also was a player in the Dudley Cricket Club during this periodand continued his involvement with the second team in 1970.

In 1977, he took until mid-season to establish himself in the team, and he managed very few dismissals, though he did score his only first-class half-century when he made 74 in Worcestershire’s two-day innings victory over Yorkshire in August.
