On the national scene, Binya finished the campaign with 16 league appearances benefiting from absences due to the first choice holding midfielder of the team, Portuguese international Petit. In 2008-09, he was utilized very rarely, yet he still racked up four yellow cards over 7 games (including 2 in the 2-0 loss to C.D. Trofense) and at conclusion of the season, he was judged not enough, and went on to take a loan at the Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax.
Birthed at Yaounde, Binya signed with S.L. Benfica for 2007-08 , after having spent three years with Algerian team MC Oran. At the start of the season, the Portuguese had planned to loan him out to fellow Primeira Liga side C.F. Estrela da Amadora for a year, however with the replacement by coach Fernando Santos for Jose Antonio Camacho the loan was canceled and the player was left at Benfica.

Binya was first invited for selection to Cameroon nation’s national side in October 2007 by the national coach Otto Pfister. Then, he was selected to represent the country at the 2007 Africa Cup of Nations, which was where Cameroon came second behind Egypt and Egypt. Pfister was also the team’s coach.
When playing for the second side at the UEFA Champions League in November 2007 Binya was given a straight red card from the referee Martin Hansson following a dangerous attack against The Celtic’s Scott Brown. On November 16, 2007 UEFA issued the player a six-match suspension, which meant he could take for no more in the two remaining Champions League group fixtures against A.C. Milan and FC Shakhtar Donetsk and the next four European games.
On 16 June 2010, Binya was signed by Neuchâtel on a three-year contract. In August of the following year, he was loaned to Gaziantepspor in the Süper Lig, with the move being made permanent subsequently.
