Yago co-wrote the third episode of The Newsroom with Aaron Sorkin, entitled “The 112th Congress.”

In the course of his career Yago has conducted interviews with a number of musicians, politicians and other stars, such as former President George W. Bush, former President Bill Clinton, former Senator John Kerry, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, former Vice President Al Gore, and Senator John McCain, as well as other notable people like ex-Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III and Bill Gates. Yago’s writings have appeared on the pages of Spin, Rolling Stone, and VICE magazines. A number of his articles have served as the basis of documentary content. For instance his 2003 piece “No War For Heavy Metal” was the basis of Vice Film’s documentary “Heavy Metal in Baghdad”. In addition, the piece Yago wrote for the PRI’s “This American Life” about the teenaged propaganda campaigner in support of Saddam Hussein became the basis for the “Talk To An Iraqi” segment in”The Second Season” of “This American Life” on Showtime. Yago is now primarily screenwriter. In 2006, Focus Features acquired his script “Underdog” about veterans returning home after the combat. The script has no time for production or release. Recently, Yago has completed a short series in collaboration with IFC. It’s called the IFC Media Project is “a user’s guide to how the news gets made” promises to expose the strategies employed by the media giants in order to “sell” the news. Yago will be hosting for the second season of The IFC Media Project, debuting in May of 2009.

Yago is a native of Madison, Wisconsin to a German mother and an American father who was born in Israel. He was raised in Queens, New York where the writer and editor of an e-zine called Corpuscle. The zine was published after he graduated Columbia University and began working for MTV News during the presidential election in 2000. At 21 years old, at the conclusion of his final year at Columbia He was offered an employment offer at full-time at MTV.
