In June 2011, Siena purchased back Sansone for 800,000 euros and then re-sold it the company to Sassuolo for EUR425,000 as part of a co-ownership arrangement. In June 2012, Sassuolo has signed Sansone (EUR425,000) as well as Troianiello (EUR575,000) in full for a total amount of EUR1 million.
In January 2013 Sansone was signed by U.C. Sampdoria from Torino for €1.45 million in a 4½ year contract; Sassuolo retained its own 50% registration rights of Sansone. In June 2013 Sampdoria acquired Sansone outright from Sassuolo for another €1.25 million. Sassuolo also acquired 50% registration of Simone Zaza from Sampdoria for €2.5 million, which another half of Zaza was acquired by Juventus F.C. from Sampdoria.
In January 2015 Sampdoria sold forwards Sansone and Manolo Gabbiadini to Bologna and Napoli respectively. Sansone only managed to play 4 games in 2014–15 Serie A.
In June of 2010 the player was sold to the fellow Serie B club Frosinone as part of a co-ownership agreement in the amount of EUR400,000, in the same way that Siena had relegated. In the meantime, the team, signed Gennaro Troianiello in full, at EUR2 million. Frosinone also agreed to retain 50% rights to the registration of Caetano Prosperi Calil.
