Gheorghi Arnaoudov was born in 1957 in Sofia and studied music composition under Alexander Tanev and contemporary music with Bojidar spassov from the State Academy of Music Pancho Vladigerov. In addition, he took part in summer classes where he worked with Brian Ferneyhough and Ton de Leeuw.
In 2000, Gega New released a CD featuring music composed by Arnaoudov named “Thyepoleo. Orphic Mysterial Rites”. The text that the composer used are the original ones that were preserved Orphic hymns. In this work, he sought out the renowned Thracologist Alexander Fol, who composed the program notes.
He has won numerous national and international awards among them his Grand Prix of the European Broadcasting Union (1985), the Golden Harp Prize from Jeunesses Musicales (1985) and the Special Prize of the Union of Bulgarian Composers (1986) and the Carl Maria von Weber International Prize for Music (1989).

Gheorghi Arnaoudov (Bulgarian: Georgi Arnaudov, also known as ge’orgi arna’udof ; born on March 18, 1957) is a Bulgarian composer of orchestral, stage, film, chamber as well as piano. His music has roots in minimalism.
His musical career began in the 1980s, particularly in the beginning. In the meantime his research was conducted in the field of electronic music as well as music theory and concrete as well as in the ancient Far-Eastern and Greek music.
To date Arnaoudov has produced numerous symphonies, oratorios, concertos and has won several international prizes. He currently teaches in the Theatre and Music departments of New Bulgarian University. In 2009 he was appointed associate professor in Composition and Harmony.
