George Bacouni, or George Bakhouni (born 16 May 1962 in Ain el-Roummaneh in Lebanon) is the archbishop elected of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut and Byblos in Lebanon. He was elected archbishop for the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut and Byblos (Lebanon) on 8 November 2018.
On June 21, 2014, He was ordained by Patriarch Gregory III Laham in accordance with the Melkite Synod Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Akka.
As a delegate of the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops (Catholic) for the Middle East in October 2010 In the bulletin’s final version. Georges Bacouni was consecrated by Archbishop Habib Baraka, SMSP of Beirut as well as Byblos on the 30th of July, 1995, as a diocesan priest. On June 22, 2005, he was named as successor of Jean Assaad Haddad Archbishop of Tyre in Lebanon and on November 27, 2005 by the Patriarch Antioch Gregory III Laham, BS was ordained bishop. The co-consecrators of his consecration include archbishop Jean Assaad Haddad (its predecessor) and Archbishop Joseph Kallas of Beirut and Byblos SMSP.
Pope Francis named him a member of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches on 6 August 2019.
