Gent Strazimiri is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on October 6, 1972 in Tirana, Albania. Gent Hysen Strazimiri (Albanian:”‘gent strazi’miri”) , born on the 6th of October, 1972) was a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania for the Democratic Party of Albania (DP). He served as Deputy Minister for Interior Relations from 2007 until 2009. Strazimiri is also a member of the Committee on legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights and Committee on Education and Public Information.

Stazimiri has been since 2009 as the vice-leader of the DP in the Albanian Parliament.

In March 2016 Strazimiri got in a scuffle with the police and was also filmed holding a pistol in his back during a protest.

In January 2018 he made a speech in parliament stating that all believers should protest against “the party of atheists”, a reference to the Socialist Party of Albania.

Strazimiri was the Deputy Minister of Interior between 2007 and 2009 under the DP from 2007 to 2009, when Bujar Nishani was the Minister of Interior. Strazimiri is well-known for his stance of no tolerance towards organized criminals in Albania and was one of the major elements behind a bilateral deal to fight organized crime. The agreement, signed by the Czech the Interior Minister as well as Gent Strazimiri. Strazimiri was elected to the DP in the year 1990. This was at the time of the collapse of communism Albania. In 1996 and 1998, the vice-president was appointed to Forumi Rinor i Partise Demokratike (FRPD) in Tirana as well as an official membre of the democratic council of Albania, and of the FRPD. From 1998 to 2000, he was chairperson of FRPD. In 2001, he was the spokesperson for the coalition of opposition Union for Victory Coalition, comprising DP, Liberal Democratic Union, Movement of Legality Party, National Front and the Republican Party of Albania. Between 2002 and 2005, he served as consultant to president DP. From 2005 until 2009, he was secretary of DP and in 2009 was appointed a one of the members of the parliament from the district that voted Tirana.

Strazimiri was raised in Tirana and attended Tirana’s Qemal Stafa High School. Strazimiri joined the DP in the year 1990. This was in the aftermath of the fall of communism Albania. In 1992, Strazimiri completed his studies at the Faculty of Law and was able to graduate from the University of Tirana. He joined the race with a long period of political experience within the structures for management that comprise the DP and in the fight against trafficking and crime within his role as the Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs, which he was in office from 2007 until 2009. From 2007 until 2009 a member in Tirana’s City Council of Tirana.

In May 2014 Strazimiri got into a physical confrontation with the Socialist MP-s Xhemal Qefalia and Armando Prenga, after Stazimiri had purportedly slapped Qefalia. His party claimed Prenga hit him with his belt, but Strazimiri denied that happening saying “no one dares to hit me”. In July 2014 the Socialist MP Pjerin Ndreu attacked Strazimiri in the parliament, with the attack being recorded the moment of punch could be seen clearly.
