Trevell Gerald Coleman (born on November 19, 1973) more popularly known as the nickname G. Dep (which stands for “Ghetto Dependent”), is an American rapper hailing from Harlem, New York City. He signed to Bad Boy Records in 1998 and released his debut album Child of the Ghetto in 2001. He released his follow- up album Ghetto Legend on September 7 2010, with Famous Records.
On the 19th of October, 1993 John Henkel was shot in the chest with an .40-caliber handgun in the James Weldon Johnson Houses located on Park Avenue and East 114th Street. Coleman claimed that he swarmed and killed Henkel in the course of a murder and fled the scene, throwing his gun in the East River. Coleman’s statements were in accordance to the facts of the case, and Coleman was charged with murder. He is now in Elmira Correctional Facility.
