Fyodor Dmitrievich Begrezin (Russian: Fiodor Dmitrievich Berezin born on February 7, 1960) is a Russian science fiction writer. Since 2014, he’s been an active advocate for the Donetsk People’s Republic.
He had a dream to write science fiction stories when he was a young teenager, but he only began to write seriously around his 38th birthday. The novels of Berezin are within the limits of the hard-science fiction genre, and has been described by critics as an “turborealist”. Calls his style of writing “science fictional/philosophical technothriller”. Berezin’s debut novel was Science Fiction novel Ash (Russian: Pepel ) in 2001. He acknowledges his influence from H. G. Wells, Kurt Vonnegut, Stanislaw Lem or Arkady and Boris Strugatsky in his work.
Presently, Berezin is a professional writer (beginning in 1998) She is the director and founder of “Strannik” (English: Wanderer ), Donetsk club of science fiction enthusiasts.

Fyodor Berezin was born and raised in Donetsk. The city was his home until 1977 when he entered the Engels anti-aircraft school. He graduated in 1981 , and worked as an Aircraft AA officer in Kazakhstan before moving to and around the Far East.
Since 1991 Berezin was discharged from the service as a captain. He is now living in his home town of Donetsk. Berezin tried a myriad of career paths such as entrepreneur, mine construction, and many more. He is married and has a daughter and son.
During the War in Donbass he served as the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for a period in 2014. In November 2014, he led an armed seizure of the Donetsk branch of the Writer’s Union of Ukraine, declaring the establishment of a new union of writers of the DPR.
