Frederic Nicolas “Fredy” Barth (born 5 December 1979 in Lucerne) is an auto racing driver from Switzerland. He is currently racing at the World Touring Car Championship.
He was back for a second season in 2011 competing in the SEAT Swiss Racing by SUNRED banner. He was scheduled to begin on the grid in reverse for Race of Belgium. Race of Belgium but due to the damage sustained during race one, he was unable to get his spot in the grid. In the final race of the season in Macau the major crash on the Friday evening ruled Barth out for the remainder weekends. Barth was unconscious from the collision. After the car caught fire. He was removed from the vehicle and then taken to a hospital to treat smoke inhalation concussion, and back contusion. The hospital discharged him the next day.
Barth joined Wiechers-Sport for the 2013 season, driving their BMW 320 TC which took Stefano D’Aste to two wins the previous season. He collided with Robert Huff during qualifying for the Race of Italy, breaking the suspension on Huff’s SEAT although neither driver were penalised. Barth went on to qualifying in 20th place. He had originally planned to miss the Race of Portugal and the Race of Brazil due to clashes with his 24 Hours of Spa programme. He raced in Portugal. For the Race of Argentina he was replaced at Wiechers-Sport by local driver José María López, Barth would return to the seat for the rest of the season except the Race of Japan.
Barth completed Barth’s World Touring Car Championship debut for Sunred Engineering at the 2010 FIA WTCC Race of Brazil. The race started at the beginning of in the Race of Morocco he moved up from eighth position to third, but was relegated from fourth to fifth by Tiago Monteiro, a spot which he completed in. He began the race from the pole position on the grid reversed in Portugal but his slow start brought him down to eighth place at the beginning of the race. Barth was ranked thirteenth in the overall standings . He also finished 3rd on the Rookie Challenge having led early in the race.

Barth began his karting career before making the move into French Formula Renault Campus in 2001, and he was in fifth place. In 2002, he joined Formula Renault 2.0, which is the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, but he didn’t score any points in his nine races. In 2003, he raced with Formula Volkswagen Germany, where He finished 10th.
In 2004, Barth made the switch to touring cars and raced at the German SEAT Leon Supercopa, placing fiveth overall. Barth finished at third place in the rankings in just behind champion Florian Gruber as well as Rene Rast. He took part at the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa in 2007 and finished fifth among the racers. He joined the SEAT Leon Eurocup, which was renamed the SEAT Leon Eurocup in 2008 which saw him finish 17th at the end of the race. In 2009, he climbed to place 3rd in the overall standings, behind the champions Norbert Michelisz as well as Massimiliano Pedala.
Barth was unable to secure a budget to continue in the WTCC for a full season in 2012, electing instead to race in the Blancpain Endurance Series. He returned to the WTCC for the final two rounds of the season. In his first race back at the Race of China he finished tenth in the provisional classification before a 30-second penalty dropped him out of the points, to fourteenth.
