Forrest O'Connor is one of the most popular and richest Singer- Songwriter who was born on April 1, 1988 in Nashville, United States. Forrest O’Connor (b. April 1st 1988, in Nashville, Tennessee) is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter mandolinist, guitarist, and singer. His father is violinist as well as music composer Mark O’Connor and currently a member of the duo of O’Connor Lee along with the wife of his, Kate Lee. He is also co-lead writer and singer for the Americana group, O’Connor Band (now the Mark O’Connor Band), whose album”Coming Home debuts at number one in the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart in August 2016. O’Connor also recorded albums together with Paul Simon, Zac Brown, Clint Black, and Kenny Loggins, among others.

O’Connor got married to Lee the following month at Belhurst Castle in Geneva, NY. O’Connor’s cousin third is American swimmer and Olympic gold medallist Katie Ledecky.

Hours after the O’Connor Band performed at the Premiere Ceremony of the 59th Annual Grammy Awards on February 12, 2017, Coming Home won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album.

That fall, O’Connor enrolled at Harvard University. He began performing frequently on campus and around Boston in a folk duo with classmate Jim Shirey as well as in a bluegrass quartet called The Hay Brigade. Early appearances included a live spot on Public Radio International’s “The World” and a campus arts festival with Harvard’s president, Drew Faust, and actor John Lithgow in attendance. O’Connor was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and awarded a Thomas T. Hoopes Prize for his senior thesis on acoustic instrument design. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in sociomusicology.

O’Connor was featured in the final episode of season 4 of ABC’s hit show Nashville in May 2016 playing mandolin, acoustic guitar and electric guitar alongside Chris Carmack’s character Will Lexington. The O’Connor Band released their debut album full-length”Coming Home” in August of 2016 on Rounder Records, and it hit the top spot at the top of the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart. The album continued to be in the top 10 charts for most of in 2016 and was described by No Depression as “a stunning debut”.

After launching the company for webcasting Concert Window with fellow Harvard graduate Dan Gurney in 2010, O’Connor joined a variety of Boston-based bands and, over the following 3 years, was in high demand as a as a sideman, session musician and the backup vocalist. In the summer of 2013, he released an EP of five songs, Wisewater, which was released via CDBaby along with iTunes. After hearing the EP, Nashville-based producer and arranger Kris Wilkinson introduced O’Connor to singer Kate Lee, then a student in Belmont University, believing the pair would be great together. O’Connor and Lee were a match and in the beginning of Jan. 2014, the singer moved back to his home town of Nashville in order for the pair to perform as a duo with the band name Wisewater.

In the meantime, in the midst of waiting for Lee to complete his studies, O’Connor worked as a sideman and session player, and was a regular member of the house band from country in The Station Inn. He was in March of 2014 when he took home the Tennessee State Mandolin Championship. Soon after the artist- singer Mary Gauthier saw Wisewater’s first music video (for O’Connor’s track, “What Have I Been Saying?”) and asked Wisewater to sing with her in the stage of The Grand Ole Opry that June. The first album of Wisewater, The Demonstration, debuted at number 13 in The iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart in November 2014. The duo performed across the nation through 2015, performing the company of and performing for a wide range of artists like Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs, Suzy Bogguss, Sam Bush and Gauthier. In the latter half of 2015, Wisewater became absorbed into the O’Connor Band , which includes Mark O’Connor.

The O’Connor Band played at major festivals and performing arts centers throughout 2017-18, developing a reputation for stylistic versatility as well as virtuosic singing and instrumental playing. They have also appeared with the Nashville Symphony, Del McCoury, Bela Fleck, and the Zac Brown Band.
