Flavius Stoican Biography

Flavius Stoican is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on November 24, 1976 in Vânju Mare, Mehedinți, Romania. Flavius Vladimir Stoican (born on the 24th of November, 1977) is Romanian professional soccer trainer and former football player. He is currently managing Liga II club Petrolul Ploiesti.

In 2009, following the end of his career as a player, Stoican was appointed manager of Liga III club Minerul Valea Copcii. In the 2010-11 season, he made the move into CSM Resita, and in July 2011 , he was named director at Dinamo II Bucuresti. After only six months the coach resigned from Dinamo II and took control of Chindia Targoviste. He was dismissed from Chindia on September 12, 2012 after a poor run of outcomes. Then, in October of 2012 Stoican was appointed head of CS Mioveni, with the principal goal of helping the team achieve the promotion up to Liga I.

In the summer of 2017, after his ambitious stint at Pandurii Târgu Jiu almost saved them from relegation to Liga II, Stoican was appointed head coach at Politehnica Iași. On 24 February 2018, in spite of a 0–1 loss to defending champions Viitorul Constanța, Stoican led Politehnica Iași to its first Liga I Championship play-off and to an eventual sixth place finish at the end of the season.

When he was playing with Dinamo, Shakhtar Donetsk manager, Mircea Lucescu, spotted Stoican’s talent and invited him to join his Ukrainian Premier League club in the summer of 2003. He played for four years in Shakhtar before changing clubs into Metalist Kharkiv. He was unable to get a spot in the first team of Metalist and was then transferred in Dinamo Bucuresti for the final season of his career.
