On July 18, 2018 it was announced that Kurto was signed to an agreement for two years for two years with New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix which play within the A-League. After securing his starting spot with the team, on December 2, 2018, Kurto was struck with a head injury after an incident in a collision with Perth Glory striker Andy Keogh.
In August of 2010, he was awarded his first call-up to the Poland national football team under 20 to play friendly games with Uzbekistan as well as Italy.

Kurto started his career at the age of 7 old in Naki Olsztyn. The year 2005 saw him transferred towards OKS 1945 Olsztyn youth team. In 2006, Kurto was a part of Warmia Olsztyn. The following year, he relocated towards Promien Opalenica. In the 2008-09 season , he was a regular player with the Promien first team within the Polish Third League. Then, in December of 2008, he received an invitation by Wisla Krakow to participate in a test. After March, 2009, he made the move into Wisla Krakow. In July 2009, Kurto signed a new , three-year agreement for Wisla Krakow. In July 2013, Kurto transferred to Dutch club Roda JC Kerkrade on a free transfer. The club was in September 2013 when Kurto was the one to score an own-goal in a draw of 3-3 with FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie. Kurto got released on July 14, 2014, and joined FC Dordrecht later on. Following the demotion from FC Dordrecht, Kurto found an alternative Eredivisie team in Excelsior.
Kurto was first introduced with the Poland national football team for under- 18s on March 24, 2009 in a game against Portugal. On August 13, 2009, Kurto played his first game for the Poland the national team of under-19s.
On 14 May 2019 it was announced that Kurto was leaving the Phoenix to join new A-League club Western United.
