Soriano enjoyed a great season all-around in 2009-10, and Almeria continued to be a top club for the third year in a row. With no striker Alvaro Negredo who was a regular fixture, Soriano was more dependent on goalscoring and scored seven times in 35 matches, which was second in the team when they finished in 13th place (he also accumulated the number of yellows he received) He also played a lot of games playing as a backup striker.
In late July 2011, after a disappointing campaign overall, Soriano terminated his contract with Osasuna and returned to his previous club, penning a three- year deal. He scored a career-best 12 goals from 39 appearances in the 2012–13 campaign, helping the team return to the top flight after a two-year absence.
On 17 May 2016, aged 36, Soriano retired and was immediately appointed manager of Almería until the end of the division two season. After managing to avoid relegation and remain unbeaten in his four games in charge (two wins and two draws), he renewed his contract for a further year.
Soriano was signed by UD Almeria for 2005-06, scoring seven goals in the first season. He was a pivotal player in the club’s debut top division promotion in the following season, when he reunited with the former Zaragoza teammate Corona and both played a key role in the subsequent season, when the Andalusians finished eighth after their debut in the top division.

Soriano is a native of Zaragoza, Aragon. He was a product of the local Real Zaragoza’s youth team The club loaned him to second division club Recreativo de Huelva before appearing in the first team that would happen during the 2002-03 season as well as in the second division.
